Comparison, competition, collaboration: what company culture do we want?

Within 3 minutes you will understand why, as leaders and HR, one of our mission is to build a safe culture inside our organization to beat the competition outside. Internal competition, without fun or generosity, brings jealousy and conflicts. I invite you to watch this 3 minutes video to understand why comparisons with colleagues are a bad habit. Learning from others, using all individual strengths to build the team’s strengths is more efficient. So be happy for your successful colleagues and friends, learn from them, you will save energy for something else.

To roll out a culture of cooperation, keeping the competition only with the market, the best is to:

  • reward internal support and make it a habit

  • encourage knowledge sharing

  • enhance continuous learning from internal expert

  • develop internal mentoring and consultancy

  • make constructive feedback

  • train leaders and managers about how to be role models in all the points above

  • select newcomers according to their cooperative behavior

  • make asking for help a welcome behavior (as a reminder: check out my blog on 'asking for help is a strength' .

And you, what do you propose to prevent this self-destructive habit’s development? Would you like to get support from ThinkYou! : Book a session
